Famous for permaculture innovations on his suburban home, Rob's next big project was to do the same on his rural property. In order to maximize his energy generation year round, Rob decided to go with an adjustable ground mounted PV system. 5.5 kW later, Rob is well on his way to living in harmony with nature and is all set to live off the land.

See how Rob uses his PV system
Rob's 5.5 kW PV system consists of 22 250 W panels mounted on three adjustable tables in a 2 × 4, 2 × 3, 2 × 4 configuration. The tables' tilts are manually adjustable so they can maintain the optimal tilt year round, maximizing their energy generation regardless of the season. The DC power generated by the panels is converted into usable AC power by microinverters mounted beneath the panels. The AC power is then fed into a 200 A service panel before heading to the property's main distribution panel via a 106' underground conduit. From there it's either used by Rob and his family or sold back to the grid.
